Forum on Cha-Cha at UP on February 6

The UP Samahan Tungo sa Progresibong Administrasyon (UP STPA), a duly recognized socio-academic organization based at the National College of Public Administration and Governance (NCPAG), University of the Philippines, is going to hold a public forum on Charter Change entitled “Resolve: Is Cha-Cha The Answer to Philippine Development?” on February 6, 2009 at 1:00pm-5:00pm at the NCPAG Assembly Hall.

The aim of this forum is to promote critical awareness and catalyze critical thinking among the students. Moreover, the organization believes that this forum will develop nationalistic and people-oriented perspectives. Speakers will include former Senator Vicente Paterno, Kalayaan Vice President Gonzalo Jurado, former National Treasurer Leonor Briones-Magtolis, and others.
The organizers are expecting around 200 participants composed of Youth leaders, socio-civic organization officers and student leaders from the public and private schools, colleges and universities as its attendees. as of this writing, the organizing committee has invited speakers  from Congress, media and the academe.

Since its inception, UP STPA has been committed to promote the discipline of Public Administration as an effective means in fostering a nationalistic and humane orientation of public service. This dedication has led to the organization’ s recognition by the University of the Philippines as a two-time Gawad Chancellor Awardee for Best Student Organization in 1996 and 1997, respectively.
