PINOYWORLD Supports Efren Peñaflorinda in his bid to become 2009 CNN Hero of the Year

I first read his story in a lifestyle magazine. All I know is that this 28-year old Efren Peñaflorinda is the driving force of Dynamic Teen Company – a youth organization in Cavite that recreates typical classroom in the streets with the help of  ‘kariton’ (push carts).

Dynamic Teen Company’s effort in the field of alternative education is remarkable. And a gist of their story is featured in CNN.com’s titled: Pushcart classes help break gang chain.

But before they took the spotlight in CNN’s Search for Heroes, Dynamic Teen Company has already established a reputation in the field of nation building and volunteerism. Among the awards they had achieved, in recognition to their efforts, are:
