“We are the world” music hit revived for Haiti Earthquake victims

February 1, 2010 marks another milestone for the Haiti relief efforts as 75-mega stars of the record industry unite for the re-recording of the 1985 hit single “We are the world”.
The song “We are the World” was written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Ritche and was produced by Quincy Jones and hit every major radio and record list charts by march 1985. The records raised more thanK $30 million to support the US for AFRICA movement, a non-profit organized by the singers to fund the hunger relief operations in African nations.
This year’s revival will feature the voices of Pink,Celine Dion, the Jonas Brothers, Kanya West, Tony Bennett, Jennifer Hudson, Akon and other classic and contemporary musical greats who stood hand-in-hand in the efforts of supporting worldwide campaign for the growing numbers of Haiti citizen who needs help as indicated in the news about Hati tragedy.
The song revival aims to raise funds for the Haiti earthquake victims and further provide support for the Haiti victims to start a new life.
