PINOY (pee-noy)
- demonym used by Filipinos for their compatriots in the Philippines and around the world. Filipinos usually refer to themselves informally as Pinoy or some times feminine: Pinay, which is formed by taking the last four letters of the word ‘Filipino’ and adding the diminutive suffix -y. The word was coined by expatriate Filipino Americans during the 1920s and was later adopted by Filipinos in the Philippines.
Nowadays, it is used as an adjective to some terms highlighting their relationship to the Philippines or Filipinos. Some examples are:

Ang blog na ito ay gawa ng PINOY para sa PINOY. Layunin nito na mabigyan ng lugar sa lumalawak na cyberspace ang ordinaryong mga isyu ng mamamayang Pilipino.
Ang blog na ito ay koleksiyon ng anumang may kinalaman sa Pinoy saan man siya sa mundo. Kung kayo’y may suhestiyon, komento o kuro-kuro, maari kayong mag-email sa info@pinoyworld.org.

pucha….. y this bullshit “situation” always think that in sales marketing need to be good in english??? for me… its not important how fluent we are, ang tama ay kung papaano nadedeliver yung message mo sa kausap mo! marami dyan d sanay maki pag transact using english as a language but still nag grow or success din sila… *****na marunung ka nga magsalita pero wala ka sa gawa.. dapat sa ganun awa!… kaawaan…. yun lng kc edge nila pero wala sa puso nila mga sinasabi nila…. its how we deal situation, yung na ee-xpress natin yung nasa damdamin natin sa kausap, kung sino man yan! marami dyan masyado magagaling, pagsasabihan ka pa ng tama, minsan mahihiya k pa nga sumabat kc akala mo tama sila…. tingnan lng natin kung sino mas paniniwalaan…..
for me its kind dah ferfect wala yang mga comment nla jan d appropriate sa symbol na pinapakita . God dammit naman is that the kind of pinoy na nag iisip naman dapat paganahin ang utak dibah. Hi! You have a nice blog…I’m still learning in the world of blogging. I’m inspired with some Pinoys and Pinays who take pride of being a Filipino in spite of the challenges our country have been through.
I came to view a former classmate’s perception who is losing her faith in her country Philippines and so with Filipinos. The blog (htttp://www.pinoyvision.blogspot.com) I created in my mind encourage me to pursue more of it, including my journey in expressing my positive thoughts to bring more positive minds in our country. More Filipinos are going out of the country, some felt unhappy in our country, some would like to take greener pasture in some part of the world. But to lose hope and faith in Filipinos and our country Philippines is something I cannot accept.
This now becomes my advocacy to help or to propagate through writing/blogging or maybe training by building confidence, giving more light to fellow Filipinos in taking pride of the good things that we see in our country and with our fellow Filipinos.
