The country’s first tourist submarine opens to the public today at Imperial Palace Waterpark Resort and Spa.
The Cebu Yellow Submarine, located within Imperial Palace Waterpark Resort and Spa had already received a Special Permit to Operate by the duly authorized agency, Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA). The vessel can accommodate about 50 persons per trip and can go down as deep as 35 meters deep.
Philippine BXT Corp. Head of External Affairs Reno Bacolod disclosed: “Cebu Yellow Submarine will carry no less than three crew and not more than 48 passengers. The area of operation is within 500 meters from the shoreline and only daytime and in good weather.” Philippine BXT Corp is the owning company of Imperial Palace Waterpark Resort and Spa.
Interestingly, underwater tourism is not a new thing in Korea and our neigboring country. In fact, before being assigned to service clients in Cebu, this tourism submarine has already served around 5 years in Thailand for the same purpose. After being reconditioned in Korea, the said submarine has already received the international Korean Register of Shipping Certification last January 2013 attesting to the fitness and efficiency of the underwater transports condition.
In its introductory rate, adults can enjoy around 45-minutes of underwater fun at Php 1,200.00 and 800 pesos for kinds 5 years old to 14 years old.

The Mactan Newtown, the flagship live-work-play township developement in Cebu is expected to be unveiled to the public on February 20, 2013 by no less than Philippines President Benigno S. Aquino III and Megaworld Chairman and CEO Andrew Tan.

With so many resorts lining up the stretch of Mactan Island in Cebu, Philippines, it can be quite difficult to choose where to go.
Mactan Island is blessed with a rich marine sanctuary, making it one of the top destinations in the country.
But white sand beach is never quite enough. Tourists will always look for a better experience under the sun.
A three-year-old luxury resort located in Barangay Maribago is worth a visit.

It is just about 15 to 20 minutes drive away from the Mactan Cebu International Airport, which is one of the busiest airports in the Philippines. From the city, the resort can be reached in an hour or less.

Once used to the thrill that Open Body Slide provides, take it to the next level and jump in at the resort’s longest slide also called the Tube Slide. In length, that is 156.56 meters and 9.91 meters in height.
It feels quite dark inside the Tube Slide like one is traveling in a wormhole but definitely the surprise after conquering this action-filled adventure is priceless.
Going further, the third slide is not advisable for those who easily faint. The Space Bowl is 48.31 meters in length and 9.91 meters in height. The twist here is that after a steep slide, there is still that three times spin before getting flushed into a 6.4 feet deep pool.
After exhausting water activities, it is always a pleasure to end the day in a comfortable accommodation.
Tourists are sure to enjoy the spacious suites. The Palace has a total of 556 rooms. Plus, its villas are ideal for honeymooners.
