Run 2 Plant 4 GREENIN Philippines 2012 on Thursday, May 10, at 2 p.m. at the Cebu Provincial Capitol Conference Room?

This year, Run 2 Plant 4 GREENIN Philippines 2012 targets to plant 220,000 native tree seedlings all over Cebu Province in June 30, 2012, doubling last year’s target of 100,000. The event shall put forward the GREENIN Philippines Program to the next level.

The event will be held simultaneously in 50 municipalities and component cities, including Cebu City, making the event a province-wide endeavor. The Cebu Provincial Government has issued an executive order mandating the implementation and institutionalization of Run 2 Plant 4 GREENIN Philippines throughout the province.

The central event, which targets 7,500 participants, surpassing the 5,000 target last year, will be held in an eight-hectare forestland in Jaclupan, Talisay City. The area will be planted with 20,000 native tree seedlings and will be developed into a forest model through a co-management agreement among Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Cebu Provincial Government, Talisay City government, and RAFI.

Run 2 Plant 4 GREENIN Philippines is held annually every last Saturday of June, which celebrates Environmental Month.

In partnership with Cebu City Government through the Office of the Mayor, Councilors Bob Cabarrubias and Mike Ralota, PLDT WiFi Zones have been set up in time for Sinulog but will be a service made available to Cebuanos year round starting January 12. The PLDT WiFi Zones may be accessed in Gen. Maxilom Avenue, Gorordo to Fuente Osmeña Circle, Osmeña Boulevard, Portions of N. Bacalso Avenue and P. del Rosario, the Cebu City Sports Center, Cebu City Hall, Provincial Capitol, Magellan’s Cross and Plaza Indepencia and many other establishments.

The service will be free for the duration of the festival. Consumers just need to look for the PLDT WiFi Zone booths strategically located along the festival route to get their free WiFi zone PINs.

“PLDT has always considered Cebu as one of its priority cities. With the unveiling of its latest technology, the PLDT WiFi Zone, the Sinulog Festival, every Cebuano’s proudest moment, can now be shared throughout the world as it takes place,” according to PLDT Head of Cebu Operations Bong Lintag.

PLDT Vice President for Data Acquisitions Retail Business Group, Gary Dujali, believes that powering Cebu up for its biggest festival will prove to be a great development for everyone involved. “This new service we are proud to finally launch in Cebu is an extension of our subscribers’ internet connection at home. The Mandaue Business Month (MBM) is an annual business celebration spearheaded by MCCI in cooperation with the local governments to highlight public-private partnership.

This annual event aims to bring forth and showcase the best economic, social and culture endowments and potential of Mandaue City, the premier industrial hub of the South.

For  Mandaue Business Month 2011, the celebration becomes more prestigious and grand in partnership with the local government of Mandaue City and the Province of Cebu and shall pave the way to a series of events and activities aimed to inspire, educate and advocate for sustainable, environment-friendly business practices while achieving growth.

The Mandaue Business Month 2011 takes on the road in leading the business community towards greening Earth.

 

THE OBJECTIVES

  1. To inspire the public by showcasing innovative and technologies to improve their lives and the community;
  2. To educate the business community on new approaches and innovations that would help business achieve their growth without destroying Earth;
  3. To advocate that Mandauehanons and Cebuanos, as a whole, adopt a sustainable and environment-friendly way of living;and
  4. To inspire the spirit of entrepreneurship among Cebuanos using innovative approaches.
