Lapu-lapu City once again prepares for a yearly tradition touted as the biggest street event of the city — the Kadaugan Street Party (KSP) 2012. This year, the event will be held on April 27-28.

Expectators can catch two whole days of non-stop activities, live entertainment, fun, games, sports, food, drinks and a lot more!

Last year, the event which occupied nearly the whole 2 kilometer stretch of M. L. Quezon National Highway, earned accolades from offline and online media, local government and the Oponganons. For most, the event was a “big winner!”. For some, “it surpassed the organizer’s expectation.”

Councilor Harry Radaza, lead organizer of KSP, revealed that around 40,000 party-goers graced on the first day of the same event last year. On the second day, around 60,000 were in the busy street of Lapu-lapu to witness the event. The said information were reveiled during the press conference organized by the City Tourism Office for Cebu-based Bloggers.

“Unsay street party kung walay beer?” says Councilor Radaza. Quoting historical facts, it was said that after Lapu-lapu forces defeated Magellan and his group, the Oponganon celeberated, which is the essence of the Kadaugan Street Party (KSP).

For her part, Lapu-lapu City Tourism Officer Fritzie Ken lauds this event supporting to the present Department of Tourism (DOT) slogan “It’s more fun in the Philippines.”

SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES for April 27, 2012 ( Friday)

Food Stations – All the delicious street food and local delicacies you can eat plus your favoriete drinks and lots of Ice-clod beer.

Selling Booths – Shop until you drop and enjoy amazing bargain finds on clothes. bags, accessories and other cool items

ALA Amateur Boxing Night – Get up close to the boxing action and cheer for your favorite amateur fighters.

Street Dance Competition – Check out all the exciting moves, tricks and flips by talented dance groups from all over the city.

Live DJ’s from Penthouse – Dace all day and pary all night to the live DJ’s from one of Cebu’s biggest clubs.

Let’s Share TV’s Wet T-shirt Party – It doesn’t get any hotter with this extravaganza of sexy ladies in their wet shirts.

Carnival – Unleash the child in you and be amazed by the exciting carnival performers.

Midnight Beer Run (3k and 6K) – Run, Walk or crawl your way in the first and only beer run in the Philippines. For only 100 pesos donation, you will receive a bib that entitles you to access to unlimited beer in stations during the run. Finishers will receive a specially designed shirts “I SURVIVED THE BEER RUN.”

Car Show – This spectacular show of pimped-out cars and sound systems will make you green with envy.

Rampada – The most-awaited event of the Kadaugan Street Party. From the amalgamation of two words “Rampa” and “Karsada” Rampada is a feast for your eyes on the most beautiful ladies of the island as they celebrated a centuries-old tradition.

Street Entertainment – Name it. The event organizers has live music, games, and a whole lot more for all party goers.

Live Performances @ 360 Stage – Be entertained with the hottest local music acts in Cebu. Highlight will be Castrol sponsored Mocha Band.

Fireworks – Watch the sky burst into color in the spectacular fireworks show.

Rampada After Party – The rampada never ends as everyone is invited to party the night away.
