While waiting for the star-studded ICON event, the centerpiece of the Mall of Asia Arena Launch, a vicinity tour to the new state of the art entertainment and event mega-venue.

Mall of Asia Arena is a 15,000 seat multi-purpose venue that is designed to cater primarily for concerts and basketball games.

The Event Bowl is that volume of space that includes the event floor and the spectator seating surrounding it.

The directional signage for sections is a unique feature of Mall of Asia Arena because it has a section number that conveniently leads patrons to their designated sections.

Forty-three corporate suite modules are also included in the design of Mall of Asia Arena. Located just above the lower box section, each of the corporate suites is furnished with its own lounge, mini bar, restroom, and a glass-paneled viewing deck complete with plush theater seats.

The Mall of Asia Arena, world-class venue for the world-class Filipino talents finally holds its Grand Launch in a music event entitled “ICONS at the MALL OF ASIA ARENA.”

Gracing the red carpet at this once-in-a-lifetime concert are some of the biggest names in the Philippine music industry from various generations including Lea Salonga, Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Jose Mari Chan, Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez, Basil Valdez, Freddie Aguilar, Christian Bautista, Erik Santos, Juris, Jed Madela, Piolo Pascual, Bamboo, Arnel Pineda, and the singing group, The Company.

Host Jim Paredes and Pops Fernandez as well as comic TV personalities Pokwang, Jose Manalo, and Wally Bayola were also present at the grand launch.

The Mall of Asia Arena is a celebration of the achievements and glory of the “World Class Filipino”, who never gives up in his dreams and the achievement of excellence. With its 20,000 full seating capacity, Corporate Suites, VIP-level services and amenities, and a vast offering of food and merchandise, the MoA Arena is posed to become the country’s premier entertainment venue.

“We are very happy to be here at this landmark occasion as the MoA arena is a testament to the Filipino people and its spirit – resilient and persevering in the pursuit of excellence. Sy, President for SM Prime Holdings, who was accompanied by his family at the ribbon cutting.

Also present at the ceremony were distinguished government officials including Vice-President Jejomar Binay, Sec. Armin Luistro, Sen. Francis Pangilinan, Former Senator Robert Jaworski, Maryo Antonio Calixto, Congresswoman Calixto Rubiano, Gov. Imee Marcos and Gov. ER Ejercito and big names in the entertainment industry such as Ogie Alcasid, Lea Salonga, Gabby Lopez and Charo Santos of ABSCBN.

Also revealed in this grand launch by Mr. Hans T. Sy along with Mr. Edgar C. Tejerero, Senior Vice-President of West Avenue Theatres Corp. is MoA Arena’s upcoming exciting event line-up.

Sporting enthusiasts will have reason to cheer as they watch the opening of the UAAP’s diamond season and NBA All-Star Basketball challenge at the MOA Arena. Hot on the heels of the successful Lady Gaga concert will be Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday Tour.

Other events Filipinos can look forward to in the MoA Arena are the return of Cirque du Soleil with Saltimbanco, the Yahoo OMG Awards and the E-Plus Teen Assembly.
